The growing belly...

So now that we know you are gonna join us, we were very eager to get your first picture, here you are!

You cant see it too good but mama has it so whenever you wanna see it just ask. Your papi decorated it very nice and put stickers on it, (he was very excited). Mamas belly was growing and you were getting bigger and bigger inside her. Mama loved to feed you Subway sandwiches and just  any kind of sandwich really. ;) Mama was always a eater and your appetite plus hers equaled lots of food eating. Since I always had an appetite, my cravings were not to bad. A few things that I could say that I wanted were ice cream, chips and dip, apples, oranges, and LOTS of water. Here are some pictures to see mama's transformation...

You can see that you are very big in your mama's belly! Here is another picture of you inside my belly, you were 26 weeks and this is the day we found out you were a boy!

You can see that you were not shy at all to show off your goods! Before we knew that you were going to be a boy we truly thought that you were gonna be a girl! Mama was laying on the doctors table and the screen was pointed at your papi. When the lady started moving the camera, your papi started to grin and his cheeks turned red. Right then i knew that the lady was gonna tell us that you were a BOY! we were very surprised but very very happy! We already knew that if we were going to have a boy his name would be Landon. Your papi thought that Mateo would be a great middle name. Landon Mateo Calhoun, the name of a king!! Landon means 'from the hill' and Mateo means 'god's gift', so 'from the hill, god's gift' you are! When we called to tell all of your family they were very excited to have a new baby boy to have around. Mama let all  of your family talk to you while you were in the belly so that it might help you recognize their voice when you came out of the belly! They all love you very very much! We are so blessed to have you and that you are here now with us. I'm sitting here watching you and your papi sleep and I just want to kiss and smother you both! you are growing so much everyday and it is so exciting.

September 2011...Taking the most lifechanging test.

Hey buddy so now that you know how your Mommy and Daddy met, we want to tell you how we found out that you were gonna join our family. It was late September and your Papi was off at work and Mama was home going to school. Mama was home from a long day of school and work, She had to go to the bathroom and something in her mind told her to take a test to see if she was pregnant. Mama didn't think that she was but, she just felt like something just told her she had to do it. Mama went to the restroom and did her business. She left the test in the bathroom and waited for it to develop. Mama went to watch T.V. and do some housework. When she realized that the test had been in the bathroom for a while, she went to go throw it away and before she did she took a quick look at it. There were TWO lines on the screen. Mama panicked and called her friend Whitney and told her the situation and that they both had to go to the store to get more tests to make sure it was correct. They went to Walgreen's and bought 3 more tests. They bought the kind that just say 'PREGNANT' or 'NOT PREGNANT' just to be safe. Mama took all 3 and they sure enough said 'PREGNANT'. Mama was scared and excited all at the same time. Mama texted your Papi and said there is something very important that needs to be talked about, so he really needed to call her. Papi called and after Mama told him the news Papi said "For Real?!?", Mommy said 'YES' this is very real! So from then on we were very excited to have a little bundle of joy that would be added to our families!! Mama went to the doctor to get an official test and they told her that you would be arriving around June 20, 2011. Mama was so excited to feel you grow inside her belly, she knew that this would be a great blessing/ adventure that they would both be experiencing!

Love is in the air....

This is a quick story of how your Papi and I met. Mommy used to live in California where your Amapa Joe and Nana Livia live, then moved out to Alabama to go to school. Mama had been living in Mobile for 2 years. Your Papi has had a upbringing that has many different stories, you have to ask him to tell you all about them. To get to the point fast, after being in many places, he mostly grew up in Mississippi. The month was January and the year was 2010. He was home from work and him and his friends decided to come to Mobile to enjoy a night on the town. Your mama was with her friends and decided she wanted to enjoy a night out as well. We both were at a nightclub and while your mama was just looking around enjoying the music, you Papi popped up out of no where and began a nice conversation with your Mama. Your Mama knew that he was something very special and felt it in her heart and knew it in her mind that this conversation was happening for a reason. From there they had conversations on the phone and whenever your Papi was home from work he would spend lots of time with your Mama. They did lots of fun things together and went lots of places and had lots of fun adventures together. Truly a couple that was in lots of love and had a amazing future to look forward to. Your Mommy and Daddy love each other very much and are so happy and proud to be your parents! :)

For my son

My dearest Landon Mateo, this is a blog for you to read when you get old enough so that you can look back and see how you grew up and memories that you may not remember. I want to do this for you because I love you very much and I want you have these memories in a hard copy and not just your mind. Your mommy and papi did not have something like this growing up, so I thought it would be nice for you to have. We both love you very much and want the best for you. I will try to get straight to the point with these stories so that it doesnt confuse you or put you to sleep. ;) You have a HUGE family and i think it will be nice for them to add their stories and pictures too. This will be a famliy effort. I will explain your family members in later stories but, i just want you to know that life is what you make it and we hope to make it the best for you as much as we can. I wish you all the blessings and oppertunites that God and life can offer you. I hope that you put all of your energy in them and do great things. Dont ever hesitate to talk to any of your family about anything, especially your mommy and papi, because we are here just for you and we will never give up on you. You are amazing and dont ever think different. You can do all things through God and your family. Love you very very very much.
